Air Fryer Frozen Chicken Wings

Easy, delicious air fryer chicken wings cooked from frozen to crisp in less than 30 minutes for a great appetizer.

Equipment

Ingredients

  • 12 Frozen Chicken Wings
  • ½ cup Louisiana Hot Sauce
  • ½ teaspoon Paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon Cayenne optional depending on desired heat levels
  • ¼ teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • ¼ teaspoon Onion Powder
  • ¼ teaspoon Dried Oregano
  • ¼ teaspoon Dried Basil
  • ¼ teaspoon Dried Thyme
  • ½ teaspoon Black Pepper
  • ½ teaspoon Kosher Salt
  • ½ Lemon Juice
  • 1 tablespoon Honey
  • 2 tablespoon Olive Oil

Instructions

Make The Sauce

  • Add hot sauce and ¾ of the dry seasonings and herbs in a large mixing bowl. Add in the olive oil slowly while whisking the sauce together. Mix in the lemon juice and honey. Set aside.

Air Fry The Frozen Chicken Wings

  • Pre-heat air fryer to 400 degrees F.
  • Add the frozen wings and cook (defrost) for 10 minutes. Separate and remove the wings. Season them with the remaining dry spices.
  • Place defrosted and seasoned wings back in the air fryer and cook for 20 minutes flipping the wings halfway through cooking.
  • Place cooked wings in a large mixing bowl. Add the homemade buffalo sauce and toss the chicken wings well.

Notes

Choose your favorite sauce or make your own. My simple doctored-up sauce is great and will wow anyone!
Place the wings in a single layer. Crowding makes it difficult to achieve that crispy skin.
Make the sauce as hot or as mild as you prefer. Red cayenne pepper is the lever you pull up or down to adjust for heat.
Choose the smallest wings available to you. Those large jumbo wings are diabolical and unnatural. On top of all that, they take longer to cook and make it extra hard to get that extra crispy texture.
Serve these wings with french fries, coleslaw, and baked beans.
