Ingredients

For the Steaks

  • 4 6 oz Calamari steaks
  • 1 ½ tablespoon Dry Jerk Seasoning Mix

For the corn salsa

  • 14 oz canned Corn kernels
  • ¼ pound Fresh okra sliced
  • ¼ pound Shishito Peppers sliced
  • 1 cup Cherry Tomatoes halved
  • 1 small Red Onions diced
  • 1 Nectarine pitted and diced
  • 1 Lime Juiced
  • 3 tablespoon Olive Oil
  • ½ teaspoon Salt
  • ½ teaspoon Pepper

Instructions

For the Steaks

  • Tenderize steaks by lightly pounding them with a meat mallet/tenderizer.
  • Season the steaks all over generously with dry jerk seasoning mix.
  • Grill on high heat (2-3 minutes per side) with an indoor grilling pan or outdoors on a traditional grill
  • Top with salsa mix

For The Salsa

  • Heat a cast iron skillet or other heavy bottomed skillet on high heat. Place the corn, okra, and peppers in the pan and char 2-3 minutes stirring occasionally. Set aside and allow to cool.
  • Place corn, okra, and peppers in a medium bowl. Add the remaining ingredients and mix well. Reserve

Notes

  1. Tenderize the meat before grilling for a more tender texture.
  2. Marinate the calamari steaks in oil, soy sauce, lemon juice, and herbs for 30 minutes or more before grilling for added flavor.
  3. Experiment with different seasonings, such as garlic powder, paprika, or herbs, to add variety to your calamari steak recipe.
  4. Coat the calamari in a flour mixture and fry for a crispy fried option.
