Napa Cabbage Slaw

This napa cabbage slaw is light, crunchy, and tossed in a cilantro lime dressing with sesame seeds; an easy no mayo slaw perfect for tacos, BBQ, and cookouts.

Ingredients

  • 1 medium Napa Cabbage sliced
  • ½ cup cilantro chopped
  • ¼ cup lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ cup sesame seeds
  • 3 tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 1 tablespoon sugar

Instructions

  • Add sliced cabbage to large mixing bowl.
  • In a separate bowl mix together lime juice, salt, pepper, olive oil, and sugar until sugar dissolves.
  • Add sesame seeds and cilantro then mix in well.
  • Add to bowl of cabbage and toss.
  • Taste and adjust seasoning including adding more sesame seeds if needed.

Notes

  • Slice cabbage thin. This is the difference between crunchy and clunky
  • Salt lightly and toss early to draw just enough moisture without killing texture
  • Let it sit 10 minutes before serving for peak flavor integration
  • Balance is everything. Taste and adjust acid, salt, and sw
